He is survived by: his wife Opal Sheppard Hemphill; his sons, Michael Hemphill, Brad Hemphill and Steve Hemphill; his brother Charles Henry Hemphill; his daughters, Renee Martin and Ann Hemphill; his sisters, Ruth Capps and Mary Wilson; and his grandchildren, Wendy Beane (Thomas), Todd Martin, Lori Hemphill, Seth Hemphill (Tiffany), Jordan Hemphill and Audrey Presnell (Jimmy). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
