He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Joseph Steele and Catherine Jane McKearin Steele; and his sister Catherine Joan Steele. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Theresa Tucker Steele; his brothers, Christopher Charles Steele (Ji Yuan) of Julian, NC and Jeremy James Steele (Patricia) of Hiawassee, Georgia; and his son Zachary. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
