He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Harris York; his children, Meredith York Sexton (Brandon), Brandon York (Patricia), Adam York and Cory Painter; his grandchildren, David Abernathy (Elizabeth), Rebecca Lloyd, Abby Smith, Makenzie Collins (Kate) and Holden Sexton; his great grandchildren, Sebastian Abernathy, DJ Abernathy and Raylen Abernathy; his sister Robin Weitzel; and his nieces, Montanna Weitzel and Marissa Weitzel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church: PO Box 815, Liberty, NC 27298.
