She was predeceased by: her parents, William "Pete" Alvis Hensley Jr. and Sally Bachelor Hensley; and her siblings, Evelyn Murry and Harold Hensley. She is survived by: her husband Wayne Shelton; her daughter Jill Horvath (Kenny); her grandchildren, Brittney Horvath, Cody Horvath, Cassie Horvath and Kenny Horvath, Jr.; and her sisters, Doris Scott (Jimmy) and Jean Robbins (Reggie).
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home (212 W Swannanoa Ave, Liberty, NC 27298). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Loflin Funeral Home Chapel (212 W Swannanoa Ave, Liberty, NC 27298). A burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at the Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery (7076 Sandy Creek Church Rd, Staley, NC 27355).
