He was predeceased by: his parent Judge Henry Rickman; his wife Anna Mae Surber Rickman; his sister Clara Etta Griffin; and his nephews, John Griffin, Larry Griffin and Todd Rickman.

He is survived by: his parent Margaret Caywood Rickman Rust; his daughters, Susan Augustyn (Mike), Velma Cook (Scotty) and Ruth Moore (Danny); his grandchildren, Tim Augustyn, Andy Augustyn (Samantha Johnson) and Chloe Moore; his brother Ernie Rickman; and his significant other Ralphie.
