He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Holmes and Nellie Jones Holmes; his former wife Elaine Murchison Holmes; and his brother James Holmes. He is survived by: his wife Gail Holmes; his son Kevin Holmes; his stepdaughters, Amy Abernathy (Sydney) and Beth Spencer (Ben); and his siblings, Brenda Oates (Donnie), Sandy Smith, Donald Holmes, Michael Holmes (Joanie) and Billy Holmes.
