Hanes, Jr. (Jay), Roy Hanes and Jim Hanes; his sisters-in-law, Linda Hanes and Betty Hanes; his nephews, Mike Hanes and Russ Essick; and his great-nephew Thomas Freeman Jr..
He is survived by: his children, William Terry Hanes of Lexington and Tina; his daughter-in-law Jan Hanes of Lexington; his grandchildren, Cerrelle Hanes McKinney (William) of Wewahitchka, Florida, Matthew Essick of Pinehurst, William Essick (Evan) of Winston-Salem, Haley Hanes Carter (David) of Cincinnati, Ohio and John Hanes of Cincinnati, Ohio; his great grandchildren, Hannah, Samantha, Gwyneth and William Harrison McKinney of Wewahitchka, Florida; his grandson Wesley Carter of Cincinnati, Ohio; his sister Virginia Hanes Weisner of Lexington; his sister-in-law Joanne Hanes of Winston-Salem; and his great-nephew William.
