He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Rainey and Dortha Rainey; and his sisters, Lela Loraine Rainey and Karen Simon. He is survived by: his children, Byron Hyde, Ryan Rainey, Weston Hyde, Logan Hyde and Lela Rainey; the mother of his children Lori McDonald; his siblings, Barry Rainey and Leaetta Rainey; and his close friend Luke Campbell. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel (301 N Main St, Davidson, NC 28036).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice to continue the legacy of kindness and generosity that Vernon exemplified during his lifetime.
