He was predeceased by: his parents, Ransom Dones McDowell and Mintie Jane Kepley McDowell; and his siblings, Jimmy McDowell, Junior McDowell and Frances Clark.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Lynn Brown of Thomasville, Samantha McDowell Smith (Robert) of Lexington, Debra McDowell Hunt (Shawn) of Lexington and Timothy McDowell (Jessica) of Thomasville; the mother of his children Carrie Todd McDowell; and his siblings, Donnie McDowell, Dale McDowell (Shirley), Debra Lou McDowell, Jeanette Kay Bullins (Darrell) and Alma Jane Welborn. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home (122 W Main St, Thomasville, NC 27360). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Jc Green and Sons Chapel (122 W Main St, Thomasville, NC 27360).
