She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Leroy Chester and Nora Virginia Tesh Chester; her husband Dennis "Tom" Brock; her son Daniel New; and her siblings, Dermont Chester, Charles Chester, Norman Chester, James Chester, Beauford Chester, Jimmy Chester, Peggy Long and Geneva Hutchinson.
She is survived by: her children, Nori New-Jackson (Cary) of Dunn, Michael New (Cortney) of Georgia, Samuel New of San Francisco, CA and David New (Nicole) of Sanford, FL.; her stepchildren, Debra Day (Mike) of Greensboro, Cindy Matthews of Cary and Dennis Lee Brock (Barbara) of Winston-Salem; and her grandchildren, Joshua New, Jason New, Jacob New, Amanda Bryant, Ester Jackson, Elijah Jackson, Jonathan Jackson, Elizabeth New-Robinson, Michael New II, Aaron Day, Allison Crisafulli, Brock Bailey, Beth Willis, Brianne Matthews, Taylor Brock and Alex Brock.
