He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marvin Tate and Doris Yarbrough Tate; his wife Evelyn Brown Tate; and his granddaughter Annie Catherine Everhart. He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy Yonts and Susan Tucker; his son-in-law Lewis; his brother James Tate (Lee) of Florida; his grandchildren, Zachary Hall of Greensboro, Lindsay Nichols of Greensboro and Daniel Hall (Morgan) of Lynchburg Virginia; his stepgrandsons, Shawn Tucker (Donna) and Cameron Tucker (Kim); his great grandchildren, Quinn Nichols, Elliott Hall, Emerson Hall and Miller Hall; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jacob, Luke, Carlie and Morgan; and his nephew Steven Tate.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Forest Hill Memorial Park (1307 W Old Hwy 64, Lexington, NC 27295).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert's memory to First Baptist Church of Lexington 201 W. 3rd Ave. Lexington NC 27292, or Davidson County Hospice 200 Hospice Way Lexington NC 27292, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
