She was predeceased by: her parents, Olin McKinley Essick and Delta Lee Walser; and her husband William Waugh Brandon. She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Hollifield (Melvin), Vickie Barker (Buel), Betty Brown (Chris) and Melinda Goad (Edwin). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel (858 Hickory Tree Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Arcadia Church of Christ (3448 Enterprise Rd, Lexington, NC 27295).
