He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Ashley Newcomb and Rebecca Jane Holloman Newcomb; his wife Doris Scott Newcomb; his siblings, Joseph, Preston, Lewis Newcomb, Bertha Newcomb and Joyce Newcomb Holland; and his stepdaughter Lorrena Gilmore.
He is survived by: his children, Lee Newcomb (Shannon) and Carol Temple (Tom); his stepdaughters, Sherri Curry (Bobby) and Annitta Cook; his grandchildren, Thomas, Samantha Newcomb, Virginia and Corwin Temple; his stepgrandchildren, Kortnie Floyd (Justin) and Bradley Curry (Whitney); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kason, Reece Curry and Iris Floyd; and his siblings, Lillie Mae Newcomb Woodard, Rebecca Newcomb Murray and James L. Newcomb. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
