He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl James "Pop" and Louise Hartley Cline; his wife Gloria Hyatt Cline; his children, Kenneth James Cline (Jan) and Gloria Caldwell; his grandchildren, Jess Caldwell, IV (Kate), Summer Suttles (Chris), Chandler Caldwell, Chase Caldwell and Rev. Steven Watkins (Jill); his great grandchildren, Graham Suttles, Kennedy Suttles, Brody Caldwell, Andrew Watkins (Michelle), Matthew Watkins (Paola), Nicolas Watkins (Sydney) and Daniel Watkins (Kenzie); and his great great grandchildren, Tyler Watkins and Scarlett Watkins.

He is survived by: his friend Jack.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel (301 N Main St, Lexington, NC 27292). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at the Lexington City Cemetery (400 E 3rd St, Lexington, NC 27292).
