He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinard Hicks and Beulah Presnell Hicks; and his siblings, Junior Hicks, Don Hicks, James "Brownie" Hicks, Victor Hicks, Wilma Hicks, Mammie Shrewsbury, Jean Hunt, Lou Ann Presnell, Dollie Ward and Faye Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Penny Lawson Hicks; and his children, Brian Hicks of Lexington and Elizabeth Hicks of Lexington.
