He was predeceased by: his parents, Minnie Strader and Earl Strader; his siblings, Elwood Strader, Edna Perdew, Virginia Williams and Shirley Hodapp; his siblings-in-law, Gordon Handy, Arlee Williams, Bill Robinson, Virge Perdew and Virginia Rubin; and his nephews, Craig Strader, Phillip Perdew and John Rubin.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Black Strader; his children, Eugene Ray Strader, Jr. (Gene), Ann Strader Hanley (Fallon) of Raleigh and Charles Allen Strader of Lexington; his grandsons, Eric Strader Tise of Lewisville, CO and John McKinley Hanley (Jack) of Raleigh; his sister Inez Handy; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Robinson and Theresa Strader. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
