He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry and Hattie Hege Conrad of Lexington; his wife Nancy Jane Landis; his daughter-in-law Donna Conrad; his grandson Carter Conrad; and his siblings, Virgil Conrad, Lawrence Conrad, Jim Conrad, Lee Conrad, Bruce Conrad, Martha Conrad, Margaret Hendrix, Hazel Wilhoit and Pegge Swicegood.
He is survived by: his sons, Barry Conrad of Fredericksburg, Dale Conrad (Debbie) of Mechanicsville and David Conrad (Christie) of Fredericksburg; his grandsons, Jeremy Conrad of Mechanicsville and Reed Conrad of Fredericksburg; his close friend Nancy Smith; and his sisters, Barbara Ann Owen and Jane Palmer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 1300 Augustine Avenue, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
