With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Derek Delone Bowers of Lexington, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 23, 2024 at the age of 68. He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Delone Bowers and Patricia Loretta Owens Bowers; his wife Cynthia Joyce Shirley Bowers; his father-in-law Boyd Shirley; and his brother-in-law Kevin Epley.
He is survived by: his sons, Jason Bowers (Kyle Ann) of Lexington and Brett Bowers (Nancy) of Spartanburg, SC; his sister Kendall (Johnny) of Lexington; his granddaughter Liza Joyce Bowers; his mother-in-law Loretta Shirley; his sister-in-law Melissa Epley; his nieces and nephews, John Adam Eller, Josh Epley, Korbin Eller and Meagan Hogston (Charlie); his great-nephews, Carter, Adam and Zaiden Eller; and his pet Dansby Bowers.
