He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Lynn and Alice Ruth Smith Cross; his stepfathers, Shiver McCright and Gene Cross; his wife Elder Barbara McCright; and his siblings, Frank Lynn Jr. Charles Lynn, Michael Lynn and Beverly Wallace.
He is survived by: his children, Candace M. James (Mel), Brandi N. McCright (Marcus), Tongla L. Burns (Larry) and James K. Miller; his sisters, Wanda Neely (Albert) and Sharon Thompson; and his siblings-in-law, Joann Smith-Thomas (John), Cynthia Adams, Loretta Vaughters, James Baldwin (Carlon), Everett Baldwin (Andrea) and Tony Baldwin (Pamela). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
