He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Edwards and Helen Coulson Edwards; his wife Mary Lou Edwards; his siblings, David Edwards and Ruby Tolbert; and his granddaughter Roxie Reeves.
He is survived by: his children, Denny Challis (Brandi), Richard Meadows (Becky) and Dede Sprinkle (Steve); his sisters, Patsy Wright, Judy Purdue and Linda Edwards; his grandchildren, Hannah Challis, Valerie Meadows, Olivia Challis, Nicholas Meadows, Ryan Sprinkle, Wesley Sprinkle, Liliana Challis, Daxton Challis and Chassity Reeves; and his nephew Danny Wayne Crouse (Carol MacDonald). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Freedom Baptist Church (214 Hillcrest Ct, Lexington, NC 27292).
