He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilda Knight and Charles Montgomery; and the mother of his children Pauline. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Debbie Montgomery Roberts Smith of Lexington, Robert "Bobby" Montgomery (Kathy) of Winston-Salem and Melinda Montgomery Sizemore (Randall) of Mocksville; his grandchildren, Shannon Montgomery, Candice Roberts Shumate (Lee), Meredith Roberts Spainhour (Wes), Steven "Daved" Roberts (Laurie) and Kera; his great grandchildren, Kaleb Bovender, Weston Loftin, Annslee Shumate, Colton Shumate, Mason Spainhour, Conway Spainhour, Dottie Roberts, Ruth Roberts and Serenity; his nephew Billy Mason; and his cousin Walter Capiga.
