She was predeceased by: her parents, James "Jim" Monroe Poindexter and Betty "Bet" Ruth Johnston Poindexter; and her brother James "Jim" Monroe Poindexter, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Melvin Taylor, Jr.; and her brothers, Mike Poindexter (Sherry) of East Bend, NC and Ricky Poindexter of Cleveland, SC. She is also survived by numerous nieces an nephews.
