He was predeceased by: his parents, Commodore Vanderbilt Adams and Pearl Van Hoy Adams; and his wife Sara Louise Gunderson. He is survived by: his children, David Charles (Ruth Anne) of Clemmons, NC, Christopher Lee, Terri Doster (Eric) of South Port, NC and Chris of Lewisville, NC.; his grandchildren, David R. Doster (Shelby Veri) of Greensboro, NC, Sara Doster (Jonathan Braz) of Greensboro, NC, Robert E. "Zeke" Adams of Clemmons, NC., Sara Anne "Annie" Adams of Clemmons, NC. and Mary Jo Adams of Clemmons, NC.; and his sister-in-law Karen Hayward of Austin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
