He was predeceased by: his parents, Dwayne Hice and Arvie Moretz; his grandparents, Katherine Beard Parsons and Andrew Jackson Parsons; his siblings, Joe Moretz, Jr., Dana Pearson and Timothy Hice; and his pet Sam.

He is survived by: his wife Ruby Hice; and his children, Michael Carl Hice, Tyler Lee Hice, Danielle Burton and Curtis Burton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
