He was predeceased by: his parents, William Propst and Shirley Michaux. He is survived by: his sons, Dorian Ferguson of Mt. View, Brandon Michaux of Washington, DC and Shawn Tate of Atlanta, Georgia; and his brothers, Rev. James Wilfong of Lenoir, Howard Tate of Lenoir, Herman Tate of Hickory and Roger Tate of Granite Falls. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
