He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolphus Decatour Sanders, Jr. and Mattie Reese Sanders; and his brother Johnny H. Sanders. He is survived by: his siblings, Bruce H. Sanders of Lenoir, Linda J. Andrews (Richard) of Cajah's Mountain, Mary L. Bryant (Blair) of Granite Falls, Gwen Kirby (Wes) of Hudson, Karen S. Spencer (Cameron) of Hudson and Sharon K. Gragg (Dale) of Lenoir.
Due to COVID-19 memorial services will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Veterans Administration of Asheville, 1100 Tunnel Rd, Asheville, NC 28805.
