She was predeceased by: her parents, Odell Story and Ona Greene Story; her husbands, Max Ford, Edward Tolbert and Frank Edward Greene; and her siblings, Wade Story, Lester Story, Wayne Story, Larry Story and Lafern Story Cook.
She is survived by: her children, Lewis Ford of Lenoir, Donald Ford (Sandra) of Lenoir, Sam Ford (Diana) of Valdese, Terry Ford (Lecia) of Lenoir, Virginia Bryant of Lenoir and Wanda Ellis (Bryan) of Lenoir; her siblings, Harvey Story (Dora Lee) of Lenoir, Cathy Hollars (Henry) of Granite Falls and Edith Arnette (O. J.) of Lenoir; and also Walter "Worth" Younce. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory (725 Wilkesboro Blvd NE, Lenoir, NC 28645).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Amorem Hospice, 902 Kirkwood St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
