He was predeceased by: his parents, James Early and Carrie Craig Chandler; his wives, Betty Jean Ballard Chandler and Mary Faye Harris Chandler; his siblings, Madge, Myrtle, Joyce, Mae, Bruce, Lawrence, Cecil, George, Charlie, Clyde and Fred; his daughter Linda Jean Stapleton (Barnette); his grandson Richard Stapleton; and his stepchildren, Jerry Harris and Pam Craig.
He is survived by: his son Jim Chandler (Deidra) of Hickory; his stepson Allen Harris (Barbara) of Hudson; his daughter-in-law Betty Harris; and his stepdaughters, Linda Greer of Lenoir and Doris Brawley of Granite Falls. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and numerous great, and great, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the local hospice.
