He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald C. Hamby and Shelba Spelce Hamby; and his sister Vickey S. Cook. He is survived by: his son Corey Alan Hamby of McDowell County; his siblings, Scott Hamby of Lenoir and Lisa H. Church (Alan) of Lenoir; and his grandchild Layla.
