He was predeceased by: his brother Willie Alton Carlton; and his stepson Dale Teeters. He is survived by: his wife Deborah H Teeters; his son Steve Thomas Carlton of Lenoir; his stepchildren, Teranada Greene of Lenoir, Latasha Suddreth of Lenoir, Kevin Teeters of Chicago and Greg Hollar of Lenoir; and his sisters, Linda S Tugman of Lenoir, Jo Ontiveros (Frank) of Hickory and Connie R Carlton of North Wilkesboro. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
