It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Marley Pennington of Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on February 17, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dawson Wolfe and Florence Marley. She is survived by: her children, Patricia "Pat" G. Pennington of Lenoir, Karen P. Whitener (Ed) of Lenoir, Sandra P. Rich of Lenoir, Susan P. McFarland (Fred) of Lenoir, Micheal Edward Pennington (Amanda) of Lenoir and Sharon Pennington of Knoxville, TN; her sister Earlene Borders of Ferguson; her siblings-in-law, Ora Mae Thibodeau of Delaware, Doug Pennington (June) of Chattanooga, TN and Stanley Pennington (Betty) of Lenoir; her grandchildren, Shawn Whitener (Kim), Richie Rich (Bonnie), Kyle McFarland, Rebecca W. Smith (Stuart), Michelle Rich and Emily McFarland; her great grandchildren, Caleb Overcash (Casey), Griffin Whitener, Reuben Whitener, Nicholas Smith, Isaac Whitener, Katie Smith, Angelica Rich, Kelli Kelley (Gwyn) and Logan Bachstein (Rebecca); her great great grandchildren, Clayton, Charlie and Cole Kelley; and her nephew Bob Borders.
Due to COVID-19 face masks and social distancing will be required.
