With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Mae Marcus Mitchell of Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on December 12, 2020 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Marcus and Martha Jane Dellinger Marcus; her husband Eairn C. Mitchell; her children, Terry Mitchell and Lisa Mitchell; and her siblings, Samuel P. Marcus, Zola Belle Burleson, Roselynn Hopson, Ester Hughes and Mildred Wilson.
She is survived by: her children, Roger Mitchell and Teresa Arnette (Kent) of Lenoir; her grandchildren, Lisa Avery (Seth), Lora, Myra Arnette and Seth Arnette (Makayla); and her great grandchildren, Elijah A. Avery, Nehemiah A. Avery, Malachi J. Avery and Hezekiah McKinley.
Graveside services will be private. Due to COVID-19 face masks and social distancing will be required.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
