He was predeceased by: his father Eugene Horton; his daughter Adrienne Grimes; his brother Wayne Horton; his grandson Ayden Grimes; and his niece Kayla Isbell.
He is survived by: his sons, Sherman Eugene Ferguson (Ashley) of Morganton and Julian Keenan of Lenoir; and his siblings, Cora Horton Brown, Margaret Horton Forney, Anty Horton Lipford and Wally Horton (Kim). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
