With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sarah Howren Hawkins (Lenoir, North Carolina), born in Johnson City, Tennessee, who passed away on November 23, 2020 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Clifford Howren and Golden Brown Howren; her husband Ralph Hawkins, Jr.; her children, Amy Hawkins Pope and Matthew Hawkins; and her siblings, John Howren Jr. and Anna Katherine Howren Trivette.

She is survived by: her children, Ralph Hawkins III (Amy Hawkins) of Atlanta, Beth Hawkins Jones (Darrell Jones) of Lenoir, NC and John Hawkins (Jill Hawkins) of Asheville, NC; her sister Reta Davis of Atlanta; her grandchildren, Matthew Hawkins (Rosalie Hawkins) of Atlanta, Lily Hawkins, Caroline Hawkins of Atlanta, Joshua Jones (Jessica Jones) of Granite Falls, NC, Jordan Jones (Holly Jones) of Granite Falls, NC, Zachary Smith (Kristina Smith) of Granite Falls, NC, Luke Hawkins and Levi Hawkins of Asheville, NC; and her great grandchildren, Alex Roten, Sylas Smith of Granite Falls, NC, Hunter Philyaw, Sophia Jones, Millie Jones of Granite Falls, NC, Hailey Hawkins of Atlanta and Bowman Jones of Granite Falls, NC..

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Methodist Church of Lenoir, Caldwell County Hospice, or Caldwell County.
