Verna Sadie Tolbert Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verna Sadie Tolbert of Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on April 27, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Marshall Gilbert Kirby; her husband Maynard Alonzo Tolbert; her sons, Myron Wesley Tolbert and Eric Lynn Tolbert; and her siblings, Irene Kirby Church (Bill), Edith Kirby Presnell (Walt), Oscar Kirby (Ruby), Beatrice Kirby Smith (Sherman), Minnie Belle Kirby Annas (Clarence) and Marshall Hubert Kirby.

She is survived by: her son Byron Leslie Tolbert; her daughter-in-law Sharon Blair Tolbert; her granddaughter Hannah Margaret Tolbert; and her close friends, Estelle Tolbert and Alice Suddreth. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Mt Hermon United Methodist Church or Amorem Hospice.
