She was predeceased by: her parents, William Austin and Bertha Jones Austin Price; her husband Gilmer J. Spears; her son Ronnie Spears; her grandchildren, Patricia Willis, Curt Burchette, Curt Burchette Jr., Edward Bently and James Edward Bentley III; her siblings, Cathleen Starnes, Garfield Austin, Azer Austin, Charlie McDade and Joe Austin; and her close friends, Bessie and Carol.
She is survived by: her children, Pat Bruchett of Lenoir, Bertha Townsend of Sawmills, Sandra Dean of Mississippi, Eddie Bentley (Karen) of Hudson, James Spears of Hudson and John Spears (Sharon) of Hickory; and her brother Donnie Austin of Hudson. She is also survived by 47 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
