He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred W. Fowler and Edith Watkins Fowler; his wife Carla Fowler; his son Rocky D. Fowler Jr.; and his sister Mae Godfrey.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Fowler (Darick Crump) of Hickory, Angel Pierce of Lenoir and David Fowler (Lacy) of Hickory; his siblings, Terry Fowler (Kim) of Granite Falls, Freddie Fowler of Granite Falls, Diane Shaver (Gary) of Statesville and Frances Shukis (Randy) of Lenoir; and his close friend Danny Combs of Lenoir. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
