It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard James Rash (Lenoir, North Carolina), who passed away on January 5, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fred Lafayette and Myraba Harbin Rash; and his wife Kaye Beasley Rash.

“Rick Rash was one of my favorite people in this world. He was a valued American Red Cross staff member and volunteer. Thousands of people are safer in the water because of Rick's dedication to aquatics. He was always quick with the corniest of jokes and he loved his ASU mountaineers. Rick was the definition of a humble, unsung hero. If Rick was your friend, he stuck with you through thick and thin. Our world is a little less bright without Rick in it. Go rest high up on that mtn. my cherished friend”
