He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaither McDonald Keener, Sr. and Ora Marie Bost Keener; his wife Helen Bolick Keener; and his brother Dr. Philip M. Keener. He is survived by: his children, Keith Allen Keener (Susan) of Hudson and Regina Rae Keener of Thomasville; his siblings, Gaither M. Keener, Jr. (Beverly) of Waxhaw, John H. Keener (Carolee) of Linville and Susan Griffin (Michael) of Winston-Salem; his sister-in-law Mary B. Keener of North Wilkesboro; and his granddaughter Holli Ann Keener of Hudson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
