He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Mayfield and Geneva Setzer Mayfield; and his brother Leroy Mayfield. He is survived by: his brothers, Wesley Mayfield (Sandra Greene) of Lenoir and John Mayfield (Kathy) of Morganton; his stepbrother Michael Peak of Lenoir; and his sister Mamie Huffman (Oscar) of Granite Falls. He is also survived by his three nieces, four nephews, three great-nieces and five great-nephews.

Any donations to the family are welcomed, and will be used to assist with the funeral expenses.
