He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Andrew Smith and Bertha Elizabeth Huffman Smith; and his sons, Kenneth Smith and Kendall Harrison Smith. He is survived by: his wife Anne Smith; his son Kevin Oscar Smith (Ivy Angel) of Lenoir; his stepchildren, Edward L. Spivey Jr. (Donna) of Collettesville, William L. Spivey (Marcie) of Hickory and Tereshia Bristol (Kenneth) of Granite Falls; his brother William Henry Smith (Becky) of Tennessee; and his grandson Graylan Smith of Hickory.
