She was predeceased by: her mother Viola S. Triplett; and her grandmother Ella B. Storie. She is survived by: her husband Charles S. Yates; her daughters, Tonya Y. Amelia (James) of Hudson and Pam Beck (Mike Nelson) of Lenoir; and her sister Dorothy M. Greene of Hudson. She is also survived by four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Central Advent Christian Church, 104 Willow Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
