He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Holman and Dewey Holman. He is survived by: his wife Jackie of Lenoir; his son Tyler (Lauren) of Asheville; his sister Sandra Poteat (Bob) of Charlotte; and his pet Baxter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
