He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil J. Townsend and Mary Etta Frazier Townsend; and his sister Thelma Ruth Coffey. He is survived by: his daughter Haley Bridges; his siblings, Rocky Townsend, Mike Townsend (Annie), Henry Townsend, Monroe Townsend, James Townsend (Carolyn), Carson Townsend, Omie Adams, Lesia Spears, Polly Townsend and Unia Jones (Jim); and his grandchildren, Calandra Icard and Hazley Bridges. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
