She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Hogan and Henrietta Ribet Hogan; her son Butch Cooke; her husband Carl Clarence Cooke; her siblings, Stewart Hogan, Gilbert Hogan, Suzanne Smith and Yvonne Taylor; and her brother-in-law Hubert Smith.
She is survived by: her daughter Karla A. Odom (Dennis) of Lenoir; her sisters, Dosia Ribet of Durham and Eva Jane Nantz of Statesville; and her grandchildren, Kelley Baker (Andrew) and Kirk Odom (Amanda). She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
