She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Leslie Roberts Sr. and Margret Ham Roberts; her husband Richard "Bud" Ellis; and her daughter-in-law Courtney Ellis. She is survived by: her children, Joni Bush (Doug) of Hickory, Jenny Flaherty (Jon) of Apex, Sam Ellis of Lenoir and Bryan Ellis (Wanda) of Lenoir; her brother Gene Roberts (Susan) of New York; and her grandchildren, Ashley Burke (Ryan), Meghan Jenkins (Ben), Hannah Oliver (Evan), Nick Bush, Amber Biecker (Chris), Thorn Ellis (Taylor), Trey Ellis (Erin), Cade Ellis, Grant Icenhour and Drew Icenhour (Taylor). She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.

In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to Carolina Caring Hospice House 3975 Robinson Rd Newton, NC 28658.

“Peg and Bud were great people and were like a second set of parents at times. When I wrecked my El Camino heading for work one morning, they were there; and it wasn't unusual for me to turn around in the Caldwell County courthouse and find Bud keeping an eye on me, often being the only one in the gallery. She will be missed.”
