He is survived by: his daughter Melissa Kanupp Smith (Keith) of Watauga County; his grandchildren, Roger Smith, Cassandra Smith Pearson (Travis) and Brittany Smith; his great grandchildren, Kaden and Karter Pearson; and his siblings, Claude "Coot" G. Kanupp (Judy) of Hickory, N. C. and Vickey Kanupp Isaacs (A. F.) of Watauga County. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
