He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed P. Griffin and Beatrice Carson Griffin Cane; his daughter Elizabeth Sue Griffin; his siblings, Infant Clarence Griffin, Clyde P. Griffin, Bart Griffin, Pauline Bumgarner, Clara Miller and Marie Williams; and his half-sister Barbara Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Clarice Williams; his sons, Gregory Lloyd Griffin (Jane) of Lenoir and Christopher Paul Griffin of Lenoir; his siblings, Joseph Griffin (Cindy) of Lenoir, Ben Griffin (Jackie) of Lenoir, Iris Richards (Bill) of Caser, Sally Yount (David) of Conover, Eula Jones of Conover, Lynn Banks (Jim) of South Carolina and Debbie Ely of Raleigh; his stepgrandson John Madden (Melissa) of Lenoir; and his stepgreat-grandsons, Alex and Richard Madden.
