He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Richards and Lena Richards; and his siblings, Melvin Richards, Edward Richards, Linda Walker and Verna Mae Moore.
He is survived by: his wife Maggie Richards; his daughter Tammy O'Keefe (Bob); his stepchildren, Michael Johnson (Joi), Ernest Johnson Jr. and Janice Johnson; and his siblings, Bruce Richards (Mitzi) and Sandra Beane (Gaither). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
