He is survived by: his wife Frankie Hood Thompson; his children, Eric Thompson of Granite Falls, Larry W. Gragg (Bernice) of Hickory, William Brian Gragg of Hudson, Thomas Brent Gragg of Hudson and Penny E. Thompson (Scott Cook) of Lenoir; and his siblings, Charles Thompson of Lenoir and Carolyn Hamby of Lenoir. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
